Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of the year, especially before the rains and first frosts. However, it's a challenging time for a garden. However, you can create a stylish autumn garden. To do this, consider perennials suitable for creating an attractive autumn arrangement in a pot or tub. This way, you can decorate your garden in any weather.

There are many ways to arrange autumn pots. The main considerations here are personal preferences and available plant varieties.
A flowerpot or a medium-sized garden pot can be used as a container. First, prepare the soil. The soil should be layered according to the following pattern:
- Drainage layer made of gravel or expanded clay.
- Layer of sand.
- Soil, you can use ready-made store-bought soil.
It's crucial that the planting container has a drainage hole. This allows excess water to drain away. Without one, the plants may die from excessive moisture.
It's important to choose plants that are resilient to the temperature fluctuations typical of autumn. It's recommended to use no more than 3-4 perennial varieties.
Tall varieties should be planted on the side of the container that will be at the back (in the background) of the entire arrangement. Typically, this side of the container is oriented toward the wall of a building or toward the back of the garden. Short varieties, on the other hand, should be placed in the front and on the sides. This will create a unique cascading bouquet.
The foliage coloring should also be considered. Contrast is the best solution for an autumn bouquet. However, some varieties should not overpower others with their brightness and color.
To create a composition, you can use, for example, the following plants:
- Rosemary.
- Sedum.
- Hosta Hudson Bay.
- Petunia Calibrachoa.
- Hybrid succession.
In general, you can choose any suitable plants.

The main thing is that they combine harmoniously with each other and are suitable for the autumn period.
For large and tall containers, you need to choose tall plants.
Grass can be placed around the perimeter of the entire container to act as a frame, hiding the trunks of tall plants.

What plants are suitable for a large flowerpot:
- Millet.
- Amaranth.
- Succession.
- Periwinkle.
- Hosta Hudson Bay.
Various crafts or materials can be used as decorative elements. For example, an artificial pumpkin can be a wonderful addition to a fall potted garden. It can be placed directly in the container. A pot decorated this way will make a wonderful addition to your front porch.
