Description of lilies

A scaly bulb, 7-20 cm in size, is concentric, stoloniferous, and rhizomatous. Coloration includes white, purple, and yellow. The roots beneath the bulb are deep in the soil, providing nutrition. Some species develop roots from the underground portion of the shoot; these roots absorb moisture from the soil and keep the plant erect.

The stem is erect, thick, smooth or pubescent, green, with 4-5 flowers per stem. Length ranges from 15 cm to 2.5 m. The leaves are located at the base or evenly spread across the entire surface, and can be densely or sparsely arranged. Some varieties have aerial bulblets (bulbs) forming in the leaf axils. These bulblets are used by the plant for reproduction.

The leaf blades are petiole-less, linear, lanceolate, oval, and pointed with veins. They are 2-6 cm wide and 3-20 cm long, with the lower leaves being larger than the upper ones. Some varieties have leaves gathered in a basal rosette or twisted in a spiral.

Flowers are cup-shaped, tubular, funnel-shaped, bell-shaped, turban-shaped, flat, and star-shaped. They are collected in paniculate, umbel-shaped, and corymbose inflorescences. There are six petals and six stamens. Colors, other than white, include yellow, pink, black, lilac, apricot, raspberry, and red. The petals are straight and scalloped, some with speckles. Oriental, longiflorum-shaped flowers exude a pleasant scent, tubular flowers have a pungent scent, and Asian flowers are fragrance-free.

The fruits are elongated capsules with brown, flat, triangular-shaped seeds.

Flora Pleno is not an Asiatic lily, but a tiger lily. This immediately raises doubts about the rest of the content.
