A detailed description of the Mushroom Basket tomato variety
The Mushroom Basket tomato can be grown both in a greenhouse and in the open ground. With proper care, gardeners can reap an excellent harvest.
Characteristics of the bush
This indeterminate standard variety grows vigorously, reaching 2.5 meters in length. The leaves are medium-sized and numerous on the bushes, so they need to be periodically removed from the lower tiers. However, it's best not to remove more than 2-4 leaves from a bush at a time.
Tall shoots require staking. Bushes are trained into 1-2 stems. This directly affects the yield of the future harvest.
Fruit characteristics
The fruits are flattened and round. When unripe, they are green with a dark spot near the stem. Ripe tomatoes are reddish-pink. Their weight ranges from 350 to 500 grams. The skin is smooth and dense, but the entire surface is very ribbed. The flesh is juicy and sweet, containing six seed chambers. If necessary, the fruits can be picked from the bush at the blanched stage of ripeness and placed indoors, where they will ripen quickly.
Ripening time and yield
Mushroom Lukoshko tomatoes ripen 115 days after germination, making them considered a late-ripening variety. Their yield is 6.2 kg per square meter. However, with proper care and favorable conditions, it's sometimes possible to harvest up to 3 kg of tomatoes per bush.
Advantages and disadvantages of the Mushroom Basket tomato variety: table
The Mushroom Lukoshko tomato variety has many advantages, but also has a number of disadvantages. These are listed in the table below.

Growing the Mushroom Basket tomato variety
It is preferable to grow Mushroom Basket tomatoes using seedlings.
Sowing seeds and growing seedlings
You can collect seeds yourself, but the safest option is to buy them from a store. However, it's important to choose a reputable supplier to avoid counterfeit seeds. Tomatoes should be planted in the ground 50-60 days before transplanting them to their permanent garden bed.
Fill the selected container halfway with potting soil. This can be purchased, but many gardeners recommend combining equal parts garden soil (after a 3-4 year rest from crops), sand, peat, and humus. To regulate moisture levels, you can add a small amount of vermiculite (10% of the total volume).
Furrows about 1 cm deep are made in the soil. Seeds are placed on top of these furrows, spaced 2.5 cm apart. They are then covered with soil and carefully watered with a spray bottle.
Next, the container is covered with glass or film and placed in a warm place with a temperature in the range of +22…+25 °C.
As soon as the first sprouts appear, the cover is removed and the seedlings are moved to a cooler place.
After the second true leaf appears, the tomatoes are transplanted into separate cups.
Preparing the soil and planting in the ground
In the fall, the soil in the garden bed is dug over, along with fertilizer. Avoid planting in the same spot where tomatoes grew last season.
In the spring, the bed should be dug again and holes should be made 70 cm apart. It is recommended to leave the row spacing at 60-70 cm.
Once the soil warms up to 10 degrees Celsius, you can begin planting tomatoes. Carefully remove them from the container, along with the root ball, and place them in the hole, not too deep. Fill the hole, water, and mulch the surface of the bed.
Care for the Mushroom Basket tomato variety
Caring for the Mushroom Basket tomato is very simple, as the variety is quite unpretentious.
Growing temperature
Tomatoes don't tolerate cold, so the greenhouse temperature shouldn't drop below 17°C. Humidity should be maintained at 60-70%, and the soil temperature should be above 10–12°C.
Watering
The first watering is done 10-14 days after planting tomatoes. Initially, 1-3 liters of water once a week is sufficient. Subsequently, the amount of water increases to 5 liters. The frequency of watering depends on the region. The hotter the weather, the more frequently you will need to water.
Top dressing
During the period of active tomato growth, nitrogen fertilizers can be added to the soil. This will strengthen the root system and stimulate vegetative growth. Subsequently, tomatoes can be fed with special complex fertilizers or organic matter. This should be done no more than three times per season.
Formation of bushes
The shoots of the Mushroom Basket tomato are strong and standard. They grow up to 250 cm in length, so they require staking. Some gardeners train the bush into a single shoot to maximize the yield. Training the bush into two shoots is also possible, but the average tomato weight will likely be less than 350 g.
Disease resistance and disease prevention of the Mushroom Basket tomato variety
The Mushroom Basket tomato variety is distinguished by its excellent immunity. It is rarely susceptible to viral and infectious diseases, but if watering is improper, especially in cool weather and the soil becomes excessively wet, it is at risk of developing late blight.
To prevent diseases, treat the plants with a solution of phytosporin or Bordeaux mixture three times per season. The first spraying should be done no earlier than two weeks after planting the tomatoes in the ground.
Using the Mushroom Basket tomato variety
The Mushroom Basket tomato harvest is suitable for fresh eating. Due to its relatively large size, the fruits are not canned, but are processed into juice, paste, and ketchup.
41 varieties of ribbed tomatoes and a comparison with the Mushroom Basket variety
For a long time, ribbed tomatoes were considered inferior due to their ribbing. They were considered unsuitable for canning or salads due to the abundance of voids in the pulp. However, breeders have succeeded in developing a huge number of new ribbed varieties, renowned for their pleasant flavor, interesting shape, and excellent yield.

Reviews of the American Ribbed tomato variety
My American Ribbed variety didn't turn out very ribbed. I wasn't sure about the taste or yield. I planted one bush late "as a trial," and three fruits ripened on the bush, then it died down. In the fall, it produced a few fruits on the side shoots that didn't have time to ripen. It tasted a bit sour.
This variety is a beauty! The fruits have distinct ribs, the flesh is firm, and the flavor is pleasant, like a dessert. I grew it indoors; the plants were no taller than 1.50 m, with medium foliage.
I planted this variety in 2015.
It didn't show its full potential - the yield was disappointing.
— External description of the bush: mid-late variety, medium-spreading, regular,
— Fruit setting is intermittent, the flowers are dropping, the bush has already been pulled out,
— The height of the bush in the open ground is 17.8–1.0 m,
— Brushes — 1-2 fruits,
— Overall yield is low,
— Fruit: ribbed, bright red, shaped like a “bast shoe”,
— The density of the ripe fruit is average,
— The taste is dense, harmonious, delicious, juicy, sweetness is 5.
First impression: a tasty and beautiful tomato for eating and processing.
Seedling rating: 4-, bush rating: 3, fruit rating: 5, overall variety rating: 4+.
The 2015 champion in terms of yield. It set four fruits and then died. A very beautiful tomato. But I didn't notice any special flavor. I'm keeping it in my collection, but I won't be growing it in 2016.
A beautiful variety. :yep: Indispensable for beautiful and delicious sliced vegetables. It grew in the open ground, and I plan to try it again in the greenhouse this year, although it also thrived in the open ground.
It's very beautiful both on its own and when sliced, and very productive, but a bit bland for my taste. But I plant it for its beauty.

Reviews of the Pink Fig tomato variety
I'm excited to share another tomato with visitors to the Otzovik website, featuring an unusual shape and flavor. The previous review was of the "Shaggy Bumblebee" tomato. This time, I'm reviewing the "Pink Fig" tomato variety.
These seeds are produced by the Gavrish company, which is popular among gardeners.
The brightly colored packet contains seeds of tall, mid-season, large pink tomatoes. I decided to grow them outdoors. I decided to plant the seeds at the end of March. They sprouted quickly.
I transplanted them directly into the ground. They took root well. All that was required was to remove the side shoots and pick off the lower leaves until the first cluster formed. The bushes bloomed profusely, and all the flowers formed ovaries.
It's already the second half of July, and I haven't tried a single tomato yet. So the advertised mid-early variety doesn't match the reality. Maybe the weather conditions weren't ideal. Incidentally, I've been picking other mid-early varieties for about a week now.
My fig tree is dark green, not even brown. I can confidently say I'll definitely be planting this variety next year. I liked how easy it is to pick from the bush, the fruit isn't watery, and it's easy to transport home. I'm not afraid of it bursting and leaking juice. The taste is sweet, fleshy, and just the right amount of juicy.

The seeds are purebred, Italian.

Indeterminate, mid-late, or rather, late in my case. The fruits are heavy, fleshy, smooth, red pears with a raspberry tint when cut. The flavor is decent, with a plus. The yield is also decent.

Reviews of the Etoile tomato variety
I received seeds of the "Etoile" variety two years ago from the Sumy region... At first, the name itself captivated me—so airy... so light... I grew them indoors; the bushes are short, compact—no more than 1.2 m... growing in three stems. The clusters fully formed and... these charming, corrugated, bright pink, glossy fruits appeared! Beautiful! Unusual! :yep:
The pulp inside the fruit is dense and has a very pleasant taste…
There are varieties of tomatoes that you can try once and forget about for a long time…Believe me, this variety is impossible to forget!
Comparison of the Mushroom Basket tomato variety with other ribbed tomatoes
Please note! How can you easily convert centners/ha to kg/sq.m? Simply divide by 100! For example, the Abakansky Pink tomato yields 400 centners of marketable fruit per hectare. This equals 4 kg per square meter. It's that simple! Also, keep in mind that typically no more than 3-4 plants are planted per square meter. This way, you can calculate the yield per bush. In the case of the Abakansky Pink, it's about 1 kg.

Gardeners' reviews of the Mushroom Basket tomato variety
Gardeners admit that the Mushroom Lukoshko tomato variety is very easy to grow. Furthermore, its fruits store well and don't spoil for a long time. However, even the smallest specimens aren't very good for pickling due to their large seed chambers.
This year we decided to try the unusual-looking "Mushroom Basket" tomatoes from the Siberian Garden company.
The seeds have good germination, all that were planted sprouted.
Watering and care are standard, as for other varieties. The seedlings were planted in a greenhouse along with other varieties.
The stems are thick and tall and require support.
In general, care for them, as I already said, is standard, for this variety and for others - the same.We collect them when they are ripe and green, and when they turn red, they are placed in a dark place with other tomatoes.
The variety was listed as large-fruited, but ours is more like medium-fruited. There are quite a few on the branch, though.
The tomatoes turned out very beautiful and cool.
I wouldn't say they're very juicy, rather dry, due to their ribbing, so they probably won't work well as preserves.
This type of tomato is only for eating. However, peeling the skin can be a hassle. I, for one, prefer peeled tomatoes, so that's a drawback for me.They are a buffet variety. They look beautiful sliced and on sandwiches.
By the way, the taste is quite good, even despite the dryness, the pulp is aromatic, tomato-like)I recommend this tomato variety to those who love unusual shapes, or for those who spend their summers full of celebrations. Surprise your guests!
I've seen the "Mushroom Basket" tomato on various tomato websites for a long time, remembered it well, and finally bought some seeds for myself.
Most likely, she decided that she also wanted the openwork to be present in the sliced tomatoes.
This is where we should stop when talking about the overall impression of tomatoes. The fact is that at "Mushroom Basket"
It's worth looking at it from the image side.
As for its taste, yes, it's pleasant, but a solid "B," nothing more. So, it's simple: if you want delicate slices, you should plant this tomato.
And if you want to enjoy the taste, then you should at least plant the “Red Fig”.
It's a bit too big for blanks, of course.
I recommend it for eye candy and variety.
Tomato "Mushroom Meadow" from Agrofirma Siberian Garden. This is my first time growing it... I planted the seedlings on March 22nd...
Very tall tomato.
If you have a greenhouse, grow it.
I planted them in open ground. The fruits are very beautiful. It just got cold here, so I had to pick them.
It's not suitable for canning, but for salad and for the table...
Like an accordion... There's a photo.

Believe me, this variety is impossible to forget!
